checklist
Checklist
for sending artwork.
Before you send us your digital files to us, please review this
checklist. We normally do a "pre-flight" check on files
we receive from our customers. The following tips and guidelines
are intended to ensure that your files are created and saved in
a way that is compatible with our systems. This will help us to
provide prompt quality service and reduce chances of any errors
or delays.
Color
Printing
Offset printing uses two distinct methods of printing, Spot Color
and Process Colour (CMYK) printing. When using Spot Colors make
sure to use the Pantone Spot Color Palette in your software color
list. And in CMYK choose color from either the Pantone chart or
CMYK color palette.
Scanned
Images
When importing scanned images such as photographs into a page
layout software such as Pagemaker, QuarkXpress, or Microsoft Publisher
please observe the following:
-
Use TIFF or EPS files only.
-
Convert
RGB to CMYK mode before placing the image.
Make sure your scanned images are in the correct resolution.
We recommend at least 300 dpi for colour bitmap images and
600dpi for line art. Import all scans at 100%. Do not enlarge
your scanned images in your layout program as it could compromise
image quality. Try to rotate, scale and crop images before
importing them to your document.
Fonts
When sending artwork, make sure you include the fonts used in
the artwork. Please provide both the Screen and Printer fonts
used. If this is not possible, convert your type into paths.
File
Compression
If your graphics files consist of many items, you should compress
them into a combined zip or stuffit file format using programs
such as Winzip or Stuffit before e-mailing it to us.
File
Delivery
You
can send the files to us in a variety of ways.
